Timothy Lovain served on the Alexandria City Council from 2006-2009 and was again elected in 2012.  Mr. Lovain serves as chair of the Washington Area Transit Industry Representatives Task Force, chair of the Public Ferry Coalition, and chair [vice president] of the Board of Directors of the Coalition for America’s Gateways and Trade Corridors.  Mr. Lovain is Executive Vice President of [Capitol] Crossroads Strategies, a government relations consulting firm in Washington, D.C. He has worked in government relations for over 30 years, mostly representing public transportation clients.  Mr. Lovain received a B.A. with honors in political science from the University of Chicago, an M.A. in politics from Princeton University, and a J.D. with honors from the University of Washington Law School.  Mr. Lovain is also [first vice chair] immediate past chair of the Transportation Planning Board for the National Capital Region. Mr. Lovain became a NVTC Commissioner in January 2016.
